Abstract

Some meteorologists and weather forecasters tend to use the word nor'easter in describing the powerful winter storms fueled by winds from the northeast. Edgar Commee, 77, of South Harpswell, one Maine resident who takes offense with the word, says the proper word to describe one of the storms is northeaster. Details, history of usage of the word.
