Abstract

Southern Maine's employment picture is improving, with companies rebuilding staffs that were stripped by the recession, resulting in a statewide job-growth rate set at 2 percent. Gains in service and construction employment have, however, been overshadowed by troubles in the manufacturing sector. Related article.
