Abstract

The Maine Sheriffs' Association will take no action to suspend a fund-raising campaign deemed illegal by Maine Attorney General Michael E. Carpenter, pending a meeting with Carpenter next week. Fourteen of the state's sixteen county sheriffs sent personalized letters to constituents to solicit funds.
