Abstract

The proposed Family Security Act, an ambitious plan to create a Canadian-style health-care system with state government as the single source of health insurance, is dead for this year. Consideration of the measure by the full Legislature has been postponed following a legislative committee decision to gather information on health care in Maine and report to the Legislature next year.
