Abstract

A report released by the environmental organization The Wilderness Society shows that there was a decline in jobs in the northern forest of New York and New England over the past two decades. Total employment in the 26-million-acre northern forest dropped by 13 percent between 1970 and 1990, from 129,551 to 112,756. Details.
