Abstract

Browntail moths, now in their larval form, are gorging themselves on leaves from brush and hardwood trees in Casco Bay's coastal communities and islands, and present a problem for humans because the caterpillars' tiny hairs contain a toxin that can cause a blotchy, poison ivy-like rash.
