Abstract

A public hearing on approaches to control Maine's sea urchan harvest had to be moved to Augusta Civic Center due to the number of fishermen who showed up. Many agreed something must be done to conserve the urchins, whose harvest has increased nearly tenfold to 13.2 million pounds between 1987 and 1990.
