Abstract

The Committee on Lower Electric Rates, which includes International Paper, Boise Cascade Corp. and others in the Industrial Energy Consumers Group, plans to fight the latest request by Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) for a rate increase. The committee says CMP should be forced to lower costs, rather than being awarded the $95 million, 11 percent rate hike.
