Abstract

The Cumberland Town Council is considering forming a civil service commission to deal with employee matters, hopefully to avoid the types of problems that surfaced during the recent firing of police chief Leon Planche. The town manager investigated and decided on disciplinary action in the Planche case, which resulted in a change of bias by Planche's lawyer.
