Abstract

A new set of international quality standards, collectively known as ISO 9000, is changing manufacturing around the world. At least six Maine manufacturers, including Keyes Fibre Co. and PrecisMetals of Westbrook, have met the standards and are now certified, which many managers believe to be beneficial to their operations.
