Abstract

A study of a 1.5-mile stretch of Stevens Avenue sponsored by the Portland Area Comprehensive Traffic Study has shown that traffic in the area is heavy and that most drivers disregard the speed limit. The congested Stevens Avenue corridor through Deering Center is home to five schools and a college and handles 14,000 vehicles a day. Details.
