Abstract

After having spent $150,000 the state has abandoned plans for an estimated $29.4 million consolidation of York County court operations at Alfred. Neither Chief Justice Daniel Wathen nor Senate President Dennis Dutrembe are convinced that the plan is a good idea, despite a consultant's estimate that the move would save the state more than $41 million over 15 years. Table of comparative costs and a list giving populations of various York County towns. Long article.
