Abstract

The cities of Portland and Westbrook are alerting homeowners that they must disconnect roof drains and sumps from the sewer systems in order to prevent the systems from becoming overloaded during heavy rains, causing raw sewage and household waste to be dumped directly into the Presumpscot River and Casco Bay.
