Abstract

Although the North American Free Trade Agreement has some groups talking about the loss of manufacturing jobs and others looking forward to increased exports, in reality the agreement may not have much of an impact in Maine. The agreement would add Mexico to an existing agreement between the United States and Canada, and although Maine exports to Mexico are growing they only total 2.3 percent of all Maine exports.
