Abstract

Tower clocks in Maine typically date to the 1880s. Five are in the Kennebunk area: South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport; the Unitarian Church and Barnard's Tavern in Kennebunk; the Church on the Cape in Cape Porpoise; and Emmons Clock Farm in Goose Rocks. Many of the clocks were moved from building to building, and over half of Maine's 89 tower clocks were made by one Boston firm. Details.
