Clarence Roberts, son of a slave, is an eloquent spokesman for the elderly of the all-white Yankee town of Old Orchard Beach. He left Tarpon Springs, FL, and its racial segregation in the 1930s, and eventually opened one of Old Orchard's two integrated tourist cabins. Details.
