Abstract

Jackman is a busy hub for snowmobiling, and thousands descend on the small town (pop. 920) where two Interstate Trail System (ITS) snowmobile trails converge. That influx has saved the town's economy. The Northland Hotel, a bakery, and a convenience store form the point of entry for ITS 86 and ITS 89. Those who enjoy the sport and make a living from it tell their stories.
