Abstract
Fourteen years ago, Salt photographer Pam Berry's subject, Monica Mann, was pregnant with her second child and living in a school bus in Aroostook County. Mann bought a piece of land, and, with the help of friends and Community Concepts Inc., built a house. Her story became part of the Salt Archive. Jenifer Dean revisits Mann in a photo essay. She now operates Earth and Fire Pottery in a studio on her property, works outside her home, and lives with her dog, Jesse. Her youngest child, Patrick, lives with his father, and her daughter lives in New Mexico. A ten-year marriage ended this past spring.
