Abstract
An interview with David Isay, executive producer and founder of "Sound Portraits Productions." The former med-school candidate has authored or co-authored four books, created an oral-history initiative, "StoryCorps," and won numerous awards for his radio documentary and feature work. He says he realized his calling when he did his first story. His priorities are telling the truth, being respectful, and celebrating his subjects.
