Abstract
Pat LaMarche of Yarmouth ran as the Green Party candidate for vice president in 2004 and for governor of Maine in 2002 and 2006. She emphasizes social justice rather than an environmental platform, as Greens historically have done. She has variously described herself as a single mother, a broadcaster, an activist, a journalist, and an educator, but emphasizes above all else her role as a mother.
