Abstract

Details on the public hearing on Ronald Lovaglio, Gov. King's nominee to head the Maine Department of Conservation. Neither the Natural Resources Council of Maine nor the Maine Audubon Society spoke up at the hearings. Lovaglio, manager of logging and fiber supply for three International Paper mills since 1987, was approved by the Legislature's Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee on an 11-2 vote.
