Abstract

The Maine Enterprise Option will allow up to 300 of the state's newly unemployed to start up a new business while still receiving unemployment benefits. Changes in federal legislation allowed states to amend their unemployment insurance regulations to permit such an option, and Maine was the first state in the nation to pass such legislation.
