Abstract

International Paper Co. will receive $43,000 from Gov. King's contingency account to train 600 IP workers in the firm's Total Quality Management program. Critics of the grant question whether the money is a wise use of public funds, given that IP is a profitable company. Gov. King said the company won the grant fair and square.
