Abstract

Maine's milk producers say a decision by Cabot Inc. of Vermont to use milk containing bovine growth hormone will not change their policies of keeping the hormone out of their milk. Grant's Dairy of Bangor requires its suppliers to sign an affidavit saying they don't use the hormone, called Bovine Somatotropin or BST. Oakhurst Dairy of Portland says all its farmers have agreed in writing not to use BST, and Hood, Inc. of Boston reported the same thing.
