Abstract

The Maine Coast Railway operates its line from Brunswick to Rockland. The railroad runs excursion trains from Wiscasset to Newcastle, but freight provides most of the revenue. The Belfast and Moosehead now runs excursion trains, connecting the Moosehead Lake region with Burnham Junction. The Great Coastal Railroad doesn't exist, and there are no plans to create one, but a fanciful line begins with the impending passenger service between Boston and Portland, scheduled to begin in 1996.
