Abstract

The Maine Alliance, a business-oriented group, advocates planning as the means to avoid conflict between business and environmental interests in siting new developments. A legislative proposal by the group says that once localitis have come up with comprehensive and environmentally sound development plans a business should be allowed to move forward without further state regulation.
