Abstract

The Maine Funeral Directors Disaster Response Team is a new program created to deal with large disasters. Nearly 40 funeral directors have completed training for the team, which was inspired in part by the Oklahoma City bombing. In the event of a large-scale disaster, the team will be prepared to provide support in search, recovery and identification operations and help families cope with losses.
