Abstract

The Legislature's Marine Resources Committee endorsed legislation which would set a 2-inch minimum size and a three-month closed season on urchin harvesting. Other measures approved include a new fee schedule for the approximately 1,700 commercial shellfish harvesters in the state, who will see the price of a commercial license go from $63 to $93.
