Abstract

The Knox Nickel Corporation purchased a 230-acre tract of land off Route 131 in Warren last week at auction, outbidding The Nature Conservancy and an abutting property owner in the process. Concerns by neighbors that the parcel would be used as a repository for mine tailings and pumped water from an adjacent land parcel were dispelled by Knox Nickel president Gary Hughes, who said the tract would be used as a buffer to meet seback rules adopted by Warren voters last year.
