Abstract
The Sunday River Ski Train was launched in 1993 by Les Otten, owner of Sunday River ski resort. Otten last year announced he was giving up the train after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. He indicated he was frustrated with the delays in restoring passenger rail service from Boston to Portland. The Bethel Mountain Line, a subsidiary of Belfast & Moosehead Railroad, is providing service from Portland to Bethel. The train is operating Friday through Sunday.
