Abstract
The Maine Humanities Council awarded $750 to Wayne Elementary School as part of its Century Project. A group of 17 third-graders at the school conducted interviews with senior citizens about life in Wayne between 1890 and 1940, and collected the resulting essays in a book, "Life and Schools in Wayne 1890-1940." The school held a ceremony last Sunday to formally present the book. Details.
