Abstract
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection's air quality bureau is sharing a Zap electric bicycle with nine other members of the Electric Vehicle Project. There are at least two other electric bicycles in Maine, both of them owned by George and Barbara Bush for use at their Kennebunkport home. Eddie Quinn of Cycle Mania of Portland sold an electric bike to a group of people who bought one for a friend who has a debilitating neuromuscular disease. The other members of the Electric Vehicle Project include Central Maine Power Co., the Maine Turnpike Authority and F.L. Putnam Investment.
