Details on the 31st biennial meeting of the Appalachian Trail Conference, which began last weekend at the Sunday River Ski Area. More than four million people hike the 2,158 National Scenic Trail, and the work of managing the increasing numbers using the Appalachian Trail is the ATC's major challenge.
