Abstract

Artist Natasha Mayers of Whitefield hung 46 paintings in her show at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. Hospital officials removed nine of the paintings, saying they were pornographic. Betty Ensign, a member of the Hospital League arts committee and an arts writer for the Lincoln County News, resigned from the committee after the pieces were pulled from the exhibit.
