Abstract

The Maine Board of Environmental Protection in 1990 rejected an application to dredge the Wells harbor. Wells has pushed ahead with the $2 million project, which would move 200,000 cubic yards from the entrance and inner harbor. The town and the Army Corps of Engineers has asked for a postponement of next week's scheduled public hearing on the project. Maine Audubon says dredging Wells harbor would hasten wetlands degradation. Details.
