Abstract
The Maine Land Use Regulation Commission last week voted to ask for new rules on boat launch development in the North Woods. LURC, the state Bureau of Parks and Recreation and the Maine Departments of Environmental Protection and Inland Fisheries and Wildlife are all involved in considering both trailered and hand-carry launches. Most public boat ramps are outside LURC's 10-5-million-acre jurisdiction. Details on LURC's January 15 meeting.
