Details on last Thursday's meeting in Rangeley, which focused on a proposal to develop Saddleback Ski Area. The plan wopuld locate ski lifts and other facilities within the Appalachian Trail corridor, and would protect only 350 acres of the corridor area through a land donation. The meeting brought together for the first time all the major players in the 12-year controversy over developing Saddleback. It was the first time ski area officials provided details of Saddleback owner Don Breen's land donation to the National Park Service and the Appalachian Trail Conference.
