Abstract

State representative Joseph Bruno, R-Raymond, is president of Goold Health Systems, a private, for-profit company that has more than $7.4 million in contracts with the Maine Department of Human Services. Bruno, who serves on the Legislature's Banking and Insurance Committee, claims he does not profit financially from his legislative work. Bruno, a pharmacist whose professional license is active, argued against expanding a state low-cost drug program. Goold Health Systems received a no-bid award from the state Bureau of Elder Services that is worth $344,480 for nine months work.
