Abstract

A federal program, Coastal America Partnership, which "shops" for state and federal money for river restoration projects, might be used in Maine for the first time. The Smelt Hill dam in Westbrook, the Edwards Dam in Augusta, and the Grist Mill dam on the Soudabscook Stream in Hampden, are all being considered for removal and could benefit from the funding.
