Abstract

Article on the fourth annual celebration of the Carl Sprinchorn Admiration Society, hosted by Christopher Huntington and his wife, Charlotte McGill, at Shin Pond Village, the site of the old Shin Pond House, which, is one of the Maine locations the artist painted. The Huntington and McGill have published five issues of the Carl Sprinchorn News at their own expense, plus a recent special edition of over 200 pages. Biographical material on the artist, who was born in Broby, Sweden, in 1887. Sprinchorn painted in Maine from 1937 to 1952, and is, according to Huntington, "a forgotten American master."
