Abstract

The National Trust for Historic Preservation placed the Great Bowdoin Mill in Topsham on the 11 Most Endangered Historic Places list this week. Simultaneously, Ricardo Quesada of the Fore Rivers Company announced a proposal to tear down all but three of the twelve mid-19th century buildings as part of a project that will turn the old mill into a commercial retail and office complex. This is the first time that a Maine site has been selected for the Trust's endangered list.
