Abstract

Details of some of the 50 proposed changes to Brunswick's Main Street, which is supposedly the widest downtown thorough in east of the Mississipi . Chief among the recommendations is that of reducing the street from four lanes to only one in each direction, with a turning lane in the middle and a travel buffer on either side of the road for bicyclists. From 1995 to 1997, there were four deaths and 384 car crashes on the dangerous stretch of road through the town.
