Abstract

Clinton recently made the news when nine municipal employees quit over municipal budget cuts, threatening a takeover of the town's administration by the state. That crisis was averted when Sharon Perry of Ellsworth was hired on a temporary basis to carry out essential administrative duties. Crystal Stewart's first town meeting as a selectwoman was marked by the wholesale resignation of the town's police force and the town's administrative assistant. The town remains divided, as indicated by comments from several townspeople.
