Abstract

Public hearings are being held on various options for increasing tolls on the Maine Turnpike so the Maine Turnpike Authority can bring in an additional $11.5 million a year in the next decade. The money is needed for major projects, including widening the section from York to Scarborough. With details on how the tolls might be increased, in line with MTA's effort to provide equity for all drivers. Related editorial.
