Abstract

Augusta attorney Sumner Lipman accused the Isleboro Tarratine Club of discrimination in his weekly column for the Capital Weekly in Augusta. He says that courtesy privileges traditionally extended to yachters were denied him because he had an Asian couple in his group. The arrangements were to be made by Isleboro's Dark Harbor Inn, and he said he had used the Tarratine Club's tennis courts and boat moorings on past visits. It is possible he might bring a suit against the club. The club denied the accusation, and said it had Asian and Black members.
