Abstract

Commentary on a performance by the New York-based David Dorfman Dance Company, which appeared recently at Bowdoin College, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board and the department of theater and dance. The three dances in the program included "Bull," which portrays masculinity at cross-purposes in literal ways; "Get Right Back," which plays with aspects of literalness and abstraction; and"A Cure for Gravity," which explores love and lust and is more abstract than literal.
