Abstract

Marriner Communications has purchased the parent company of "the Classical WAVE" radio station in Rockland and is challenging Maine Public Radio for the small but influential classical music audience in the state. Marriner owns "WBACH, Maine's statewide classical network," which is based in Kennebunk. Last year, owner Louis Vitali, purchased WPKM in Portland. Marriner has now purchased all of its previous commercial classical competition.
