Abstract

"Capital Letter" piece on Gov. Angus King's first official act after being re-elected, which was to address a group of business people in Bangor about his 10-point "One Maine" program and his plans for economic development in northern and eastern Maine. With a comparison of King's speech to one delivered by Merrill Bank President William Bullock in 1984 to a group of northern Maine business people and legislators about the need for a "New Square Deal" for northern and eastern Maine.
