Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on a Maine Green Party meeting, which took place in Augusta on Nov. 21, to review their three campaign efforts this fall and decide what the next step will be. In the past six years, the party has run candidates in six legislative races and five congressional and governor's races. Nancy Allen, who was coordinator for Pat LaMarche's recent bid for governor, said e-mail would make future elections a "new game," and that more work was needed to gain support for Greens in the 1st Congressional District. The party's future plans include mobilizing the business community, recruiting candidates for the 2000 elections and raffling off its latest gubernatorial candidate, Pat LaMarche, for dinner.
