Abstract
"Maine Perspectives" piece on the second phase of the $50 million renovation project for the Capitol in Augusta, which will reconstruct the tunnel connecting the State House and the State Office Building at a cost of $4 to $5 million. The author urges planners to also consider closing Capitol Street between the State House and the Blaine House so pedestrians won't have to dodge cars on the above-ground walkway.
